We are seeing God answer your prayers...by Kathy Kishbaugh

Hola from Kathy!

It is Wednesday morning in Mineros.  Yesterday was a full day.  The Compassion Center is set up so that there are two groups of students each day.  One group comes on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 – 11 a.m. and another on Tuesdays from  1 – 3 p.m. (mas o menos).  On Wednesdays and Fridays there is a third group from 9 – 11 a.m. and the fourth comes the afternoon of those days from 1 – 3 p.m. (mas or menos).

There is a small soccer stadium across the street from the Compassion Center so we spent the first part of our morning and afternoon sessions over there.  Some of the children participated in the soccer clinic and others chose to stay in the stands and color or make gimp bracelets.

After soccer/crafts we came back to the church for songs and a skit.  Yesterday we acted out the story of the paralytic.  The children loved participating.  Most came up and acted as the crowd surrounding Levi who was Jesus.  They were right there when the paralytic (Greg) was lowered onto the floor and when he was healed.  They squealed with surprise and delight as Greg rose up, thanked Jesus and ran around the room.  (Greg deserves an academy award for his performance!)

In the afternoon we were able to visit the homes of Mark’s, Kerry’s and Peggy’s compassion children.  It is difficult to see the conditions in which so many have to live.  Yet is was heartwarming to watch Mark and Kerry interact with their children.  Kerry had met Daniella two years ago and Daniella just jumped into Kerry’s arms.  Mark’s child came with his family to church last night and they were able to sit together.

Last night was church.  Mark, Levi & I, and Paige all shared and Matthew preached on several promises of God.  There was another welcome line and we were warmly greeted by every person who was there.  Since we had played with many of the children during the day, we got some very big hugs!

Thank you for praying so faithfully for us and with us.  We are seeing God answer!
